ARISE: A Family Business Growing Despite the War — the Success Story of “Flora” Farm

From the outset, Flora has been a family-run business. Founded in 1991 by Andrii Arseniiovych, the farm entered a new phase of development two decades later, when leadership was taken over by his grandson, Andrii.

The entire family is involved in the farm’s operations, so choosing a profession was never a difficult decision. Andrii is convinced that agriculture is his true calling.

His ability to grow the business—even under the most challenging wartime conditions—clearly demonstrates this. Despite closed ports, limited access to finance, and the loss of new sales markets, he managed to invest in modern equipment. Subsequently, with the support of the ARISE project, the farm secured a loan, enabling the purchase of a new combine harvester, a tractor, sprayers, and a greenhouse.

Andrii wishes the same progress for other farmers, firmly believing that only those who stand still fear competition. Supporting one another is essential—and following Ukraine’s victory, even greater opportunities for development will emerge.

What else does the farm do, and what are the aspirations of Flora’s head? Watch the video to learn more.

The ARISE project was implemented by the Business Development Fund and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine during 2023–2025. The project was financed through a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (USD 230 million) and grants from the Ukraine Relief, Recovery, Reconstruction and Reform Trust Fund (URTF) totaling USD 365 million.
