FrontMeD, based in Shepetivka, has been producing honey and fruit-and-berry desserts since 2017. It’s more than just a business — it’s a place where work itself becomes a source of support, both for the team and the local community.
However, since October 2022, the company has faced a critical challenge — power outages. For a production facility that relies entirely on electricity, this posed a serious risk of shutdown.
To overcome this, the team applied to the project “Supporting Energy Resilience of Micro and Small Enterprises in Ukraine” and received a grant for solar panels and an inverter. Thanks to this support, the enterprise will be able to save around $1,500 annually and, most importantly, ensure operational stability even during times of crisis.

This publication was prepared with the support of the project “Supporting Energy Resilience of Micro and Small Enterprises in Ukraine”, implemented under the international cooperation programme ReACT4UA (“Application and Implementation of the EU–Ukraine Association Agreement in the Field of Trade”).
The programme is jointly funded by the Government of Germany and the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) and implemented by the German federal enterprise Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
The goal of the project is to enhance the resilience of Ukraine’s economy to periodic power outages and ensure the uninterrupted operation of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) through financial support for solutions that guarantee stable access to electricity.
